[ 02 ] — Our Story

Slow work, done by hand, at the edge of the water.

Totier Creek Candle Co. began with a Doctorate in Theology — years spent studying stillness, light, and the practice of attention — and ended, of all places, at the banks of a small Virginia creek. Here in Esmont, every candle is hand-poured in small batches: wax warmed slowly, wicks set by hand, fragrance measured the unhurried way.

We make candles the way the creek moves — quiet, deliberate, and in no rush at all. Light a wick, and let the room keep a little Sabbath for a while.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

Psalm 46:10
